Open Booking

Want to book your van but not sure when? Maybe you want to take advantage of our current Don't Worry Be Happy Promotion or maybe you just want the peace of mind of having your van reserved. Either way, then our Open Booking option might be the perfect solution for you. It's simple:

  1. Select the van you like
  2. Instead of selecting exact dates, select the following dates:
    • Pickup Date: 02.02.2021, 12:00 PM
    • Dropoff Date: 07.02.2021, 12:00 PM
  3. Select the "Open Dates" extra on step 2 in the booking process (this is free)
  4. Finish checking out as normal

Of course we encourage you to book with specific dates if you can, especially since we allow for unlimited and free booking changes and a generous 24 hour cancellation policy. But if that's simply not possible for some reason, such as COVID-19 travel restrictions, an open booking might be your best option.

By creating your booking this way, we will guarantee you a van when you find out what dates work best for you. We accomplish this by taking several measures that ensure you will be notified before certain dates become fully booked for your selected van category. In order to keep this guarantee, we ask that you do the following:

  • Let us know what your dates are at least 1 month in advance of arriving in Iceland. If you anticipate giving us less notice, we recommend booking a van in the near future and simply changing your booking dates later.
  • Please let us know as soon as you are certain about your travel dates, even though it's more than 1 month in advance.
  • Please make sure you get our confirmation email after booking (could be in the spam folder) since we might need to contact you again regarding your open booking.

For your deposit, you will either pay 30% or 100% of the placeholder 5-day rental. Don't worry, if your rental ends up being more or less expensive, we will make the appropriate correction at the office when you pick up your van.
